Make The Change To A Healthy Lifestyle

FREE courses offering families the chance to make the change to a healthy lifestyle launch in Rugby next month.

Change Makers aims to be both fun and informative, helping families to embrace healthy living through better diets and increased exercise. The free nine-week programme, led by a family lifestyle adviser, gives families the chance to try new, nutritional recipes and take part in different games and activities. Sessions also include guest speakers from sports clubs and cookery organisations. New Change Makers courses start at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre on Tuesday 12 April (sessions starting at 4.15pm) and Bilton Junior School on Wednesday 13 April (3.30pm). Families can also sign up for courses at Paddox Primary School (Thursday 14 April, 3.30pm) and Rokeby Primary School (Friday 6 May, 3.45pm). Cllr Derek Poole, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for health, said: "Change Makers can make a real difference for families who want to take the first step towards a healthier lifestyle. "The sessions offer advice and information in a relaxed, fun environment to keep participants motivated throughout the nine weeks and beyond." Rugby Borough Council runs Change Makers courses across the county on behalf of Public Health Warwickshire. Change Makers caters for families with children aged between four and 12-years-old.
